DBB&H files 1st suit against Brighton Gardens

Attorney Rachel Stahle filed the 1st wrongful death lawsuit related to the coronavirus pandemic against Brighton Gardens, a Kansas senior living community, on behalf of the Grohman family. Gordon Grohman, a Brighton Gardens resident and loving father, was diagnosed with COVID on March 30. He died the following day.

Concerns about Brighton’s handling of the COVID outbreak have been mounted by county officials, residents’ families and a former employee. Thus far 76 people associated with this facility have tested positive, and sadly 14 people have died.

In one of the new stories, Stahle was quoted saying “In the end, these families recourse ends up being the civil justice system because that really is the only deterrent to future conduct that we’re seeing here.”
