BREEDLOVE VS S&H EXPRESS, INC.; JEFFREY RICE; IOSIF GHIMBASAN; MODA TRANSPORT, INC.
On June 26, 2008, at approximately 2:45 a.m., 22-year-old Cassondra Breedlove was operating a 1997 Saturn on eastbound I-84 just east of exit 32 in Southington, Connecticut. Another motorist, Jeffrey Rice, was operating an S&H Express 2003 International semitractor-trailer eastbound on I-84 behind Breedlove’s Saturn.
The semitrailer collided with the back of the Saturn. After the collision, Cassondra parked her Saturn on the shoulder of I-84 and got out of her vehicle. At this time, Iosif Ghimbasan was operating a MODA Transport 1997 Western Star semitractor-trailer eastbound on I-84 behind the other two vehicles. In an attempt to avoid the S&H Express, the third vehicle swerved and tragically struck Cassondra Breedlove. She sustained fatal injuries.
Cassondra is survived by her parents, Pamela Nelson and Todd Breedlove, and her siblings, Caleb and Clarissa Breedlove.
