The two sons of Geraldine Boles sued a nursing home for wrongful death after their mother died following a fall.
On April 8, 1998, Boles, 81, fell while she was a patient at a Kansas City hospital. She suffered a subdural hematoma and remained hospitalized until her discharge to Plaza Manor Nursing Home in Kansas City.
Five days later, Boles fell and struck her head, causing a second and fatal subdural hematoma. She died the next day, April 21.
Boles' sons claimed the nursing home failed to provide one-on-one monitoring as ordered by her doctor.
